"Beautiful books and packed with info."A great gift for horse lovers, horse statue / model horse collectors!
Hartland Horses and Dogs by Gail Fitch,
from Schiffer Publishing, Ltd.
188 pages, 11" x 8.5", paperbound, 750+ color photos
and b/w archive photos
Hartland created nearly 500 different models of "breed series"
horses from the 1960s through the 1990s. This is the story of
those horses and the four different Hartland companies that
produced them. See and read about all of these lovely horses, and
also the sculptors and other long-ago Hartland personnel, plus the
unusual mold-making process that allowed Hartland to reproduce
such show-stopping, sculpted detail, especially on its famed 11" series.
This book includes beautiful, large photos of each model; interviews
with company officials from the 1940s-1990s; and research of original
sources. Many collectors contributed their photos of rare models.
With
dates, descriptions, quantities, original prices, values, and company
archive photos, it is an easy-to-use ID guide, and the "Bible" on
Hartland horses and the history and artistry of Hartland. Suggested
values are included.
Your book will be signed and numbered by the author, who encloses
extra pages. Gail Fitch started Hartland research in 1980 for her first
full-color edition (1983). Many editions later, this is her finest book,
a lovely and enjoyable ID guide and tribute to a spectacular line of
plastic horses that have been appreciated for decades.
